Bitterness: A Meditative Essay on American Meritocracy (Essay Pack - 2 Versions)
This essay is a contemplative work from which I discuss that all that emanates from human bitterness, is not a sign of a so-called "lack of effort," or so-called "lack of drive," nor is it an individual immersed in their feelings of having not yet overcome their own obstacles to soon feel as though they can arrogantly compare themselves to others. Instead, I suggest, with explosive warning, that we as people, not citizens, but living human beings, will learn overtime, that in our corrosively capitalist society, we are conditioned with a toxic inclination to be competitive over all things. Meanwhile, as our society has evolved, a lot of us are more attuned to share genuine appreciation and love for one another's accomplishments, despite not having accomplished anything ourselves. While I do not argue, or suggest any solutions to bettering one's well-being in unlearning to be bitter, inwardly abolishing the toxicity of capitalist competitive ness in this essay, it indefinitely lays a groundwork for us and future generations to live and coexist in a more embracing society.
